March 27, 2012 - Andrea Kneeland of Lincoln Motor Company told us that the ice is out on Mattanawcook Pond as of noon today. Caribou Pond was ice-free today also.
April 5, 2012 - Sue Harvey reports that Cold Stream Pond is ice-free as of today.

These dates are provided to us by Andrea Kneeland of Lincoln Motor Company on the shores of Mattanawcook Pond. Andrea tells us that every owner of Lincoln Motor Company or the building it occupies (it was once an ice house) has kept up the tradition of recording the ice out date each year since 1930. The ice is considered out when the pond is open as far as Weatherbee Island.
